Fast-paced and competitive one-on-one fighting game

Blazblue Calamity Trigger is one of the first HD first-person 2D shooter games offered by the developers of the Guilty Gear franchise. It offers anime-styled graphics and these are quite intricate. The main point is to do battle with other characters in order to ascend through the levels. In some ways, this platform is similar to the popular Mortal Kombat series in terms of user controls, finishing moves and the overall style of competition.

Gameplay and Strategy

The player can choose from 12 different combatants; each of these boasting its own set of skills as well as a handful of weaknesses. The physical representation of fighting styles is notably realistic and the actions of the players themselves are quite smooth. Each challenger also has a unique ability which can be used to deal a significant amount of damage to the opponent. Those who are interested in head-to-head competitions will be happy to learn that a multiplayer mode is available.

Other Functions and Benefits

Blazblue Calamity Trigger makes use of hand-drawn sprites and other elements, so its appearance is drastically superior when compared to more generic fighting games. The package is equipped with 42 original music tracks, a user manual and two downloadable wallpapers.

PROS

  • Blazblue Calamity Trigger is a fast-paced and highly competitive fighting platform
  • Unique graphics and powerful player attributes enhance the overall gaming experience

CONS

  • A file size of no less than 8 gigabytes could drastically impact system performance
  • The available competitions may become slightly repetitive and predictable over time
